Playwriting

Before you continue on and read about my playwriting philosphy and who I am as a writer and blah blah blah, subscribe to my substack: https://dansreview.substack.com/?r=3z29m0&utm for reviews on new work that focus on the writing and craft of the plays themself.

As a playwright, I have found that my work centers around queerness and latinidad. My strengthen lies in language, dialogue, and comedy. My mentors are Laura Schellhardt and Julie Marie Myatt.

Outside of my own writing, I also have a passion for book writing when it comes to Musical Theatre. I have been a writer for the Waa-mu Show, the largest student written musical, for 92nd and 93rd show.

I also have a passion for teaching and mentorship. For the past year, I have served as the literary manager of Vertigo Productions, a Northwestern student theatre board that is dedicated to producing new student-written works. In this role, I am able to mentors and guides five playwrights, supporting them as they develop and produce their new plays. Through this position, I have taught a ten minute play festival class, which consist of five playwrights. I was also a teaching assistant for the advance playwriting sequence.
